Summary

State money to hospitals, repaying families of chronically ill children.

The bill orders the state health and human services agency to set up and run a grant program that gives hospitals money to repay families of chronically ill children for hospital food and parking. Only parents, guardians, or caretakers of a child with a state-designated chronic illness who meet Medicaid income rules can be repaid, and hospitals that get grants must report each year on how they used the money. The program pays out from whatever money is available, including any money lawmakers set aside, starting with rules adopted after September 1, 2025.
