Summary

Whatever part isn’t one already becomes one, as soon as possible.

The bill orders the Texas Transportation Commission to label any part of State Highway 87 that is not already a hurricane evacuation route as one, as soon as possible. It touches the commission and the people who live along or travel State Highway 87. On the ground, the whole highway carries the evacuation route designation, but the bill itself adds no money, signs, rules or other duties beyond that label.

THE TEXT

“The Texas Transportation Commission shall designate any portion of State Highway 87 not designated as a hurricane evacuation route on the effective date of this Act as a hurricane evacuation route”…

Bill text, introduced version (I)

The only operative act is a designation of a highway. It is a working designation rather than an honorary one, so this is a tag, not a knock.
