Summary

Between Airline Road and Spur 502/Judson Road in Gregg County.

The bill names a stretch of Farm-to-Market Road 2275 in Gregg County, between Airline Road and Spur 502/Judson Road, the Bill Stoudt Parkway. It touches the Texas Department of Transportation, which must design and put up markers showing the new name, subject to an existing section of the Transportation Code. Nothing else changes on the ground beyond new road signs, and the road keeps any other names it already has.

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the designation of a portion of Farm-to-Market Road

2275 in Gregg County as the Bill Stoudt Parkway.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code,

is amended by adding Section 225.243 to read as follows:

Sec. 225.243. BILL STOUDT PARKWAY. (a) Notwithstanding

Section 225.001(c), the portion of Farm-to-Market Road 2275 in

Gregg County between its intersection with Airline Road and its

intersection with Spur 502/Judson Road is designated as the Bill

Stoudt Parkway. The designation is in addition to any other

designation.

(b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall:

(1) design and construct markers indicating the

designation as the Bill Stoudt Parkway and any other appropriate

information; and

(2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at

appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.

SECTION 2. It is the intent of the 89th Legislature, Regular

Session, 2025, that the provisions added by this Act be renumbered

to prevent multiple provisions with the same designation.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives

a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as

provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this

Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this

Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
