Summary

Existing law requires the committees. Now boards certify it yearly.

The bill requires each school district board to certify to the Texas Education Agency every year that it has set up the district- and campus-level planning and decision-making committees that existing law already requires. It touches school boards and the state education agency, which will set the certification process by rule. On the ground, districts add one annual paperwork step confirming compliance with an existing committee requirement, starting with the 2025-2026 school year.
