Summary

No older than 90 days, refreshed at least every 36 months.

The bill requires insurers that use credit scores to price home, auto and other personal policies to use a credit report no more than 90 days old when a policy is issued or renewed, and to refresh that report at least every 36 months and adjust premiums. It touches insurers, agents and Texans whose personal lines insurance rates depend partly on their credit. Insureds get written notice of any score or premium change and can ask for a re-rate on renewal once a year, unless they opt out, are already in the best-priced tier, or have a policy that does not use credit scoring.
