Bill text, introduced version (I)

A population floor is combined with a multi-county location and a border on a man-made lake of at least 20,000 acres. That stack of descriptors points a general-looking alcohol law at what appears to be a very small number of cities. The caption names no place and only says "certain areas of a municipality."

Summary

240,000+ people, two or more counties, a 20,000-acre man-made lake. The caption names no place.

The bill widens an existing local option alcohol election law so it covers a second kind of city: one with 240,000 or more people that sits in two or more counties and borders a man-made lake of at least 20,000 acres. It touches only cities that fit that description, plus the original Gulf Coast city group, and the alcohol sellers inside special zones those cities designate. Covered cities could hold elections on alcohol sales in designated zones and could adopt zoning and land-use rules for alcohol-selling businesses in those zones, starting September 1, 2025.
