Summary

Deadline moves from December 31, 2016 to December 31, 2026.

The bill reopens a window that let local governments move their regular officer elections to the November uniform election date, pushing the deadline from December 31, 2016 to December 31, 2026. It covers cities, school districts and other political subdivisions that now hold their general election on a date other than November, but not counties or municipal utility districts. Those local bodies can again choose to move their elections to November, and nothing forces them to do it.
