Summary

The Texas Workforce Commission sets it up by rule.

The bill orders the Texas Workforce Commission, working with the state higher education board, to set up a geothermal energy workforce education and training initiative by rule. It touches colleges, technical schools, career schools and geothermal employers, who help shape custom curriculum and partnerships for apprenticeships and jobs. On the ground, the commission must build geothermal training curriculum, look for existing workforce money that can fund training, promote school-employer partnerships, and report to the Legislature every year starting September 1, 2025.
