Summary

Hit the required age any time that school year, and you’re in.

The bill lets a child whose parent or guardian is an active-duty member of a foreign military stationed in Texas qualify for public school by age if the child will reach the required age at any point during the school year. It touches these foreign military families and the Texas public schools that would admit their children. On the ground, these children can enroll in pre-K or kindergarten earlier than the normal age cutoff allows, starting with the 2025-2026 school year.
