Summary

Vote once released on parole, not after the whole sentence.

The bill lets people with a felony conviction vote once they are released on parole or mandatory supervision, instead of waiting until their whole sentence is discharged. It touches Texans with felony convictions who are out of prison but still under parole or mandatory supervision, plus the county officials who register voters. Those people would qualify to register and vote starting immediately on a two-thirds vote, or September 1, 2025 otherwise.
