Summary

Rodeo organizations now count as professional sports teams.

The bill widens the state's definition of a professional sports team to include rodeo organizations sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association or the Women's Professional Rodeo Association, or any organization hosting a Professional Rodeo Event. It also defines a "rodeo venue" as the home facility where those organizations hold their rodeos. This lets the charitable foundations tied to those rodeo groups run the same charitable raffles that Texas pro sports team foundations already run, starting September 1, 2025.
