relating to the establishment of a veterinarian-client-patient relationship.

Summary

Remote vet care can start the relationship, which current law forbids.

The bill lets a veterinarian set up a formal vet-client-patient relationship by phone or electronic means, which current law forbids from being done that way alone. It touches Texas veterinarians, pet and livestock owners, and anyone who wants remote vet care. Starting September 1, 2025, a vet would no longer need an in-person exam to begin that relationship, which opens the door to telemedicine for animals.
