Summary

Delivery, storage and disposal charges land on the insurer.

The bill makes an insurance company that pays a total-loss claim on property held at a vehicle storage facility responsible for the facility's charges for delivery, storage, and disposal of that property. It touches insurers, vehicle storage facility operators, and the owners whose vehicles or property sit in storage after a total loss. Storage lots can collect these fees from the insurer, including amounts that built up before the claim was paid, for property taken into storage on or after September 1, 2025.
