Summary

Was 70 percent general revenue, 30 percent trauma care.

The bill changes how the comptroller splits state traffic fine money, moving the share from 70 percent general revenue and 30 percent trauma care to an even 50-50 split. It touches the state general revenue fund, the designated trauma facility and emergency medical services account, and the Texas mobility fund, which gets any general revenue share above $250 million a year. More traffic fine money goes to trauma centers and emergency medical services starting with revenue collected on or after September 1, 2025.
