Summary

New name, plus four classroom hours for apprentice inspector applicants.

The bill renames the required "core" real estate inspection courses to "qualifying" courses and adds a new requirement that apprentice inspector applicants finish at least four classroom hours of those courses. It touches people applying to become apprentice, real estate, and professional inspectors in Texas, plus the commission that approves their courses. Starting January 1, 2026, new apprentice applicants must show coursework before licensing, and the higher license tiers count those hours separately from their own required hours.
