Summary

No exemptions from class size, curriculum or teacher employment laws.

The bill bars school districts of innovation from using their local innovation plans to exempt themselves from teacher and educator employment laws in Chapters 21 and 22, class size limits, state curriculum and graduation requirements, and student discipline rules under Chapter 37. It touches every district that holds a district of innovation designation, along with its teachers and students. Existing plans must drop those exemptions by September 1, 2025, so districts lose waivers they may already be using.
