Summary

Local governments can skip print if the online outlet qualifies.

The bill lets a local government publish its required public notices in a qualifying digital newspaper instead of a print newspaper. It touches governmental entities that must publish legal notices, print newspapers that now carry those notices, and online news outlets that meet the new test. To qualify, a digital outlet must have an audited paid-subscriber base, be at least three years old, employ local staff, cover local government and general news, and update at least weekly.
