Summary

No ban and no mitigation fee for residential property owners.

The bill bars Texas cities from banning the removal of Ashe juniper trees on residential property, and from charging a tree mitigation fee for removing them. It touches homeowners and residential property owners who want to clear these trees, and the cities that now regulate tree removal. Cities that require permits or charge fees to cut Ashe junipers on home lots would lose that power on September 1, 2025.
