Summary
Students, interns, residents and fellows get time for a checkup.
The bill orders the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to write rules requiring medical schools and graduate medical education programs to set aside time each academic year for students, interns, residents and fellows to get a physical exam. It also requires those schools and programs to tell trainees that annual physicals are available and important. Starting in the 2025-2026 academic year, medical trainees get a designated time slot and a notice, but nobody is required to take the exam or pay for it.
