Summary

Eight household items, from dental floss to dish soap, go tax-free.

The bill removes state sales and use tax from eight everyday household and personal items. It touches every shopper who buys toilet paper, contact lens solution, reading glasses, dental floss, laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, or deodorant, along with the retailers who collect the tax. Starting September 1, 2025, those items ring up without sales tax, and taxes owed before that date still have to be paid.
