Summary

Every member gets a copy of the audit.

The bill requires every property owners' association covered by the Texas residential HOA chapter to get an independent audit of its financial records every year and give a copy to each member. The audit must be done by a certified public accountant if the bylaws, a board vote, or a majority vote of members at a meeting calls for it, and in that member vote each owner gets one vote no matter how many lots they own. Starting September 1, 2025, homeowners get a yearly look at their association's books, and associations take on the cost and work of producing it.
