Summary

Toll roads top the candidate list. Report due September 1, 2026. Law expires December 31!

The bill orders the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, working with the Texas Department of Transportation, to study charging electric vehicles wirelessly while they drive on Texas roads. It touches the institute and TxDOT, which must assess the methods, check feasibility, pick candidate roads with toll roads first, and estimate the benefits. Nothing is built or funded on the ground; a report goes to the Legislature by September 1, 2026, and the law expires December 31, 2026.
