Summary

From one to up to four in the baby’s first year.

The bill raises the number of maternal depression screenings covered for a baby's mother from one to up to four during the baby's first year. It touches mothers of infants enrolled in Medicaid or the children's health plan, whether or not the mother is herself enrolled, along with the state health commission that pays for the screenings. On the ground, doctors can bill the state for up to four screenings at well-child visits before the baby turns one, instead of just one.
