relating to providing notice of a vehicle towed to a vehicle storage facility by publication on a third-party Internet website.

Summary

A state-approved website, not only the local newspaper.

The bill lets vehicle storage facilities give notice of a towed vehicle to its owner and lienholder on a public website run by a state-approved third party, instead of only in a local newspaper. It touches storage facility operators, owners and lienholders of towed vehicles that are out of state or hard to identify, and newspapers that now carry these notices. The department must post a link on its own website to any approved third-party notice sites, starting September 1, 2025.
