Summary

The $50 cap becomes cost of materials or $300, whichever is less.

The bill changes what a person pays to get an electronic copy of an election record, which must be available within 15 days after election day. The old flat cap of $50 is replaced with a cap equal to the cost of materials, not counting labor, or $300, whichever is less. Requestors could pay up to six times more for large requests, or less where material costs are low, and the change takes effect immediately with a two-thirds vote or on September 1, 2025.
