Summary

Plans weigh needs of Health and Human Services and Texas Workforce Commission clients.

The bill requires each metropolitan planning organization to consider the transportation needs of people who get services from the Health and Human Services Commission or the Texas Workforce Commission when it writes its transportation plan. It also makes any planning organization that asks the state transportation commission for money submit evidence that local transit providers have considered those riders' needs, including by adjusting fixed routes. Starting September 1, 2025, regional planners and transit agencies would have to document this before getting state financial help.
