Summary

The 508th District starts September 30, 2027, after the next general election.

The bill shrinks the 22nd Judicial District to Comal County only and creates a new 508th Judicial District made up of Hays County alone. Pending Hays County cases in the 22nd District Court move to the new 508th District Court, Caldwell County cases move to the 207th District Court, and the Hays County juvenile board seat shifts from the 22nd district judge to the administrative judge of the Hays County District Court. None of it takes effect until September 30, 2027.
