Summary

Any part that makes a gun fire automatically with one trigger pull.

The bill makes it a state offense to knowingly possess, make, transport, repair, or sell a machine gun conversion device, meaning any part meant to make a gun fire more than one shot automatically with a single trigger pull. It also widens the state definition of a machine gun from a gun that fires more than two shots automatically to one that fires more than one. Anyone caught with a conversion device can raise a defense if the item is federally registered, exempt from registration, or classified as a curio or relic, and the change starts September 1, 2025.
