Summary

No public money for anyone else doing it either.

The bill bars local government officers and employees in Texas from handing out voter registration forms to people who did not ask for them, except as allowed under the existing volunteer deputy registrar rules. It also bars them from using public money to help anyone else hand out unrequested registration forms. Starting September 1, 2025, counties, cities and other local bodies could give out registration forms only on request, and could not fund unsolicited mailers or drives run by others.
