Summary

Countywide polling places at each precinct, instead of closing precinct ones.

The bill rewrites the state program for countywide polling places so that counties in the program set up countywide polling places at each county election precinct, instead of closing precinct polling places. It affects commissioners courts in participating counties, local party chairs who agree to use countywide polling places in primaries, and the voters who use those sites. Every countywide polling place must have a poll list for the whole county, five existing subsections of the program law are repealed, and the changes take effect September 1, 2025.
