Summary

State chair or county chair collects the filing fee.

This bill changes who collects the filing fee or the petition from a candidate seeking nomination by convention. Instead of paying the secretary of state or the county judge, candidates would pay or file with the state chair for statewide and district offices and the county chair for county and precinct offices. It also repeals two other subsections of the same section, and it takes effect September 1, 2025.
