THE TEXT

…“shall prepare and submit a written report to the legislature describing and detailing the state agency's available resources to support and sustain peer-recovery organizations in this state”

Bill text, House committee report version (H)

The only duties are to identify existing resources and report on them every two years. No funding, grant or program is created, so any real support waits on later action.

Summary

No money, no grants. Seven agencies report the help they already have, every even-numbered year.

The bill writes a legal definition of a peer-recovery organization into state law: a nonprofit mostly run by people in recovery from addiction or living with a mental health condition. It orders seven state agencies, including health, family services, housing, prisons, juvenile justice and veterans, to identify funding, training or technical help they already have that could support these groups. Each agency must then send the Legislature a written report every even-numbered year by August 1, but the bill itself spends no money and makes no grant.
