Summary

5 percent of boat registration money goes to a new derelict vessels account.

The bill splits boat registration fee money collected by Parks and Wildlife. Each month the department may still send up to 10 percent of that money to the state parks account, but it must send 5 percent to a new derelict vessels and structures account. The General Land Office can use that account, along with gifts and appropriations, only to remove and dispose of abandoned boats and structures from Texas waters.
