Summary
Certified mail no longer required. Email, hand delivery or fax work.
The bill changes how a homeowner asks a property owners' association for its books and records. Instead of requiring certified mail, an owner or their representative can send the request by regular mail, email, hand delivery, or another method the association approves, such as fax or the association's website. The request still has to describe the records and say whether the owner wants to inspect them or get copies, and the association keeps its 10-business-day deadline to respond.
