Summary

Felony convictions: vote once out of prison, not after parole or probation.

The bill lets people convicted of a felony vote and register to vote as soon as they are out of prison, instead of waiting until they finish parole, probation or supervision. It touches Texans with felony convictions who are on parole, probation or other supervision, plus the county registrars who check eligibility. On the ground, the only felony bar left is current incarceration for the offense, and the change takes effect immediately or on September 1, 2025.
