Summary

Agreements since January 1, 2025 must spell out terms that follow the land.

The bill changes the rules for written agreements between two neighboring school districts that swap small pieces of territory. Any such agreement signed on or after January 1, 2025, must list the terms, restrictions, covenants or contracts that keep applying to the land after it moves, and briefly explain each district's rights and duties under those terms. For agreements signed between January 1, 2025, and September 1, 2025, those continuing terms count as effective from January 1, 2025, or a later date the districts pick.
