Summary

Both boards must approve by majority vote first.

The bill bars a school district from signing a contract to have an outside operator run a district campus that sits inside another school district's territory unless both boards of trustees approve by majority vote. It touches school districts that use the existing campus-operation contract law and the neighboring districts where such campuses would be located. On the ground, a host district gets a veto over another district's contracted campus placed within its borders, starting September 1, 2025.
