Summary

Names become Appraisal District and a number.

The bill requires every Texas appraisal district to be named by the comptroller's county code number, in the form "Appraisal District #(number)." It touches all county appraisal districts and consolidated districts that share an appraisal office by contract, which must list each county's code number. On the ground, names like a county-named appraisal district go away, because a district name may no longer include the name of a county, starting September 1, 2025.
