Buy it at home the day before, eat it on the trip, get repaid.
The bill lets state agencies repay state employees for groceries bought in their home city the day before or the day they leave on official travel, if the employee eats that food while away. It touches state agencies and state employees who travel for work. On the ground, an agency that writes a policy can reimburse the prorated daily share of those groceries, counted against the existing meal allowance limit, starting September 1, 2025.
