Caption from analyzed text · version I.
Gone: one year of licensure, insurance and 30 training hours.
This bill lets a physical therapist treat a patient without a referral from another practitioner, and it strikes the old conditions: one year of licensure, required liability insurance, and either a doctoral degree or 30 hours of differential diagnosis training. It touches licensed physical therapists and the patients who go to them directly, and it also repeals several related subsections of the physical therapy chapter and renames the emergency care section. Starting September 1, 2025, any licensed physical therapist can see and treat a patient directly, with no referral and no extra qualifications.
