Summary

The committee gives advice on existing active shooter training. Any change waits on the commission.

The bill tells the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement to set up a five-member advisory committee, with all five members picked by the commission itself. The committee's only job is to give the commission recommendations on the content and rollout of the active shooter response training that peace officers already must take under existing law. No training requirement changes on the ground; the committee just advises, and the bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
