Summary

Certain offenses no longer auto-revoke a social worker license.

This bill removes social workers from the list of health care professionals whose licenses are automatically revoked or denied for certain criminal offenses. It touches social workers licensed under Chapter 505 of the Occupations Code and the board that licenses them. Starting September 1, 2025, a social worker with one of those offenses would no longer face automatic revocation or denial under this chapter, while dentists, nurses, physicians and the other listed professions still would.
