A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the composition of districts 45 and 73 for the Texas

House of Representatives.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. (a) State representative districts 45 and 73, as

established by Chapter 1, Acts of the 87th Legislature, 3rd Called

Session, 2021, are modified by transferring blocks 1000, 1001,

1002, and 1003 of Hays County tract 010816 from district 45 to

district 73.

(b) In this section, "block" and "tract" have the meanings

assigned by Section 1, Article III, Chapter 1, Acts of the 87th

Legislature, 3rd Called Session, 2021.

SECTION 2. The changes to the districts described by

Section 1 of this Act apply to the election of the members of the

Texas House of Representatives beginning with the primary and

general elections in 2026 for members of the 90th Legislature. This

Act does not affect the membership or districts of the House of

Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives

a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house, as

provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this

Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this

Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the

legislative session.
