Summary

If inmates can’t get it, students can’t either.

The bill adds one more category of books that Texas public school library policies must ban: any material on the state prison system's list of publications that inmates may not receive. It touches school districts, school librarians, classroom libraries, online catalogs, and the students and parents who use them. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, a book barred from Texas prisons must also be barred from being bought, acquired, or kept in public school libraries.
