Summary

The secretary of state may release a notary’s home address, phone or email.

This bill changes a Texas public records rule that keeps license holders' personal details confidential. It lets the secretary of state release the home address, home phone number, or email address of a notary public. Notaries lose that confidentiality for those three items, while their Social Security number, birth date, and ID numbers stay protected.
