Summary

Birth dates and ID numbers go private. Business contacts stay public.

The bill rewrites the state law that keeps certain personal details of license applicants and license holders out of public records requests to state licensing agencies. It adds date of birth, driver's license number, state ID number, passport number and emergency contact information to the protected list, and it makes business address, business phone and business email expressly public. It also lets a licensing agency withhold the protected details without first asking the attorney general, and it removes the line that made this section override other laws requiring release.
