Staff travel like state employees, even when no state money pays.
The bill makes open-enrollment charter schools follow the state law on travel expenses as if each school were a state agency and its staff were state employees. It touches charter school officers, employees and governing board members who travel. Their travel falls under the state travel rules in Section 660.093, Government Code, even when no state money pays for the trip, starting September 1, 2025.
