Summary

Every county and district attorney reports certain data.

This bill requires every county attorney, district attorney, and criminal district attorney in Texas to report certain data to the Texas Judicial Council. They must report what kinds of cases they prosecute and how many, how many staff they have and whether that staff is enough for their caseload, how often defendants were released under Article 17.151 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and how many electronic notices they sent to courts under Article 17.027(a)(2). The council must set the reporting form by September 1, 2026, after consulting the Texas District and County Attorneys Association and other interested persons, and the law takes effect September 1, 2025.
