Summary

Must be a public school parent who isn’t a district employee.

The bill changes one seat on the Texas School Safety Center board of directors. The governor-appointed seat now reserved for a member of the state parent-teacher association would instead go to a parent of a public school student who is not a school district employee. Every other board seat stays the same, and the change takes effect immediately with a two-thirds vote or on September 1, 2025.
