Summary

Spending split evenly between those two kinds of projects.

The bill tells the Texas Department of Transportation to rank road projects that either maintain or improve state infrastructure, and to split transportation spending evenly between those two kinds of projects. It also requires the department to notify every legislator whose county holds a major road project when that project is picked for funding and before it is finished, instead of only notifying legislators who asked. It touches the department, its 10-year project plan, and lawmakers, and it takes effect September 1, 2025.
